Using the AquaClean filter allows you to make 5000 cups of coffee before descaling is required that is 20 times longer than your average filter. Use on any Saeco Espresso machine that shows this icon: Xelsis, PicoBaristo, Incanto

The Saeco AquaClean filter uses innovative ion-exchange technology to micro-purify tap water and bring out the purest coffee flavour.

  • Descaling ensures a smoothly running machine and yields the best tasting coffee and espresso.
  • For use with Saeco super automatic espresso machines (with AquaClean sticker on the water tank), such as the Saeco PicoBaristo, Saeco Xelsis,
  • Micro-porous filter blocks any impurities for purer coffee flavor and aroma.
  • Naturally removes calcium through ion-exchange technology.
  • Patented flow path takes a long path in machine for deeper purification of water.

A Necessary But Unwanted Expense

The filters work as expected so I can’t complain about their effectiveness. However with just two of us using the Phillips espresso machine it looks like we will average 3-4 water filters per year. I know I don’t have to use these and could just descale the machine instead but we want the best possible coffee experience possible. With that in mind it looks like it may cost roughly $100 per annum just to keep water filters in the machine, much like printer ink it’s just an annoying expense you don’t really want to have.
