Looking for a machine that is easy to use, easy to clean and works well in higher traffic contexts? Then the Saeco Lirika is the right machine for you.
The Saeco Lirika Plus was designed for ease of use in self service contexts. The user-friendliness and reduced operating costs make it an effective choice for home or B2B contexts.
The clean lines in the design along with larger water and bean tank make it an obvious choice for those who don't want their coffee to be a complicated task.

This review was completed after using the machine for only 3 weeks, so the review will focus on how it compares with the Delonghi Magnifica which I've been using for the past 12 years. In terms of usage, our household makes about 3 cups of coffee per day and the occasional coffee with steamed milk on weekends. Taste-wise – I cannot tell the difference between the two machines. Both taste fine for a super-automatic, but definitely not as smooth as an espresso from a coffee shop. Coffee Temperature – Lirika+’s coffee on medium is hotter than Magnifica’s (which does not have temperature adjustment). We found the medium temperature setting to be just right for coffee as the hot was too hot. The hot setting may be better for espresso as it has way less water. Operating Noise/Volume – Lirika+’s grinder and start up noise is about half of the Magnifica. This was a pleasant surprise as we were expecting the same decibel. Milk Steamer – Lirika+’s milk steaming tool, the black attachment with the hose, is significantly easier to use than the wand. We have always found steaming milk to be a hassle with the wand so if we wanted a milk based coffee, we would just microwave some milk then add a shot of espresso. In the first 3 weeks of use we’ve steamed milk every other day because it is so easy to use and clean up. The Lirika+ did come with both the hose attachment and the wand. Drip Tray/Coffee Drags – Lirika+ uses way more water to rinse the internals than the Magnifica. I have found that I had to empty the drip tray at least once before the coffee drag drawer is full to prevent overflow as a lot of water is dispensed into the drip tray. The drip tray is also a bit tricky to manage when emptying, as the tray is rather shallow and long requiring a bit of a balancing act to prevent spillage. Overall, I am please with the Lirika+ and its features and think it’s worth the extra $125 over a new Magnifica. Fingers crossed, the Lirika+ can also last 12 years without any issues.
